Tasting note

Colour: an antique brass glow. Aroma: layered and inviting — ripe orchard and stone fruits lead into warm baking spices (nutmeg, cinnamon, ginger), toasted oats, vanilla and gentle oak. Palate: a rich mouthfeel opens with plum and sweet orange, balanced oak-driven toffee and chocolate, rounded by a biscuity, creamy texture. Finish: long, fresh fruit and spices that evolve to creamy chocolate and toasted oats. Producer notes: Edition No. 6 is the sixth and final release in The Macallan Edition series. Hand-picked by The Macallan Whisky Maker, Steven Bremner, it reflects the Estate and the River Spey, using five distinct cask types of American and European oak chosen and seasoned under the Master of Wood. The maturing spirit is left undisturbed in those carefully crafted casks until each parcel reaches its destined expression. Winemaking / Distilling notes: A true single malt from The Macallan distillery, the spirit has been matured exclusively in oak casks selected for their flavour contribution. Casks were sourced, crafted, toasted and seasoned to demanding specifications; once filled the spirit remained in-situ for the required time to develop depth and natural colour. Bottled at 48.6% ABV with a T-top cork closure, the whisky carries the house’s signature focus on oak and wood mastery.

The Macallan (est. 1824) is renowned for its obsessive focus on oak casks and the contribution of wood to single malt character. Owned by the Edrington Group, The Macallan sources, crafts and seasons American and European oak casks under the oversight of the Master of Wood. The Whisky Maker selects parcels from the Estate maturation warehouses, letting spirits mature undisturbed until they meet the expression's criteria. Edition No. 6 exemplifies this mastery, marrying cask-driven flavour with estate provenance.
