Tasting note

The 2021 Pio Cesare Piodilei Langhe Chardonnay is a testament to the elegance and quality of Piedmont wines. This wine, with its pale greenish-yellow hue, offers a refined bouquet of citrus fruits, jasmine blossoms, and freshly cut grass, complemented by subtle oak notes. On the palate, it is round and powerful, with a well-structured body, mild acidity, and rich fruit flavors. The wine boasts opulence and strength, with a ripe fruit profile and a long, spicy finish. Produced from vines planted in 1981 in the Treiso and Monforte regions, this Chardonnay is fermented in wood and aged for a year in a mix of new, one-year-old, and two-year-old French barriques, followed by an additional year of bottle aging. Enjoy now with decanting or cellar until 2035 for further complexity.
