Description

The final ripening happened extremely fast and we harvested the pinot on the 15th and 16th of September. The crop was extremely clean though we still sorted out a bit of what we didn't think was quite up to par relative to our standards. The net yield was right at 35 hl/ha with good sugars at 13.5%, firm and thick skins and in my view perfect acid/fruit/tannin balance. We vinified the Corton over 17 days, which was two days shorter than in 2004, and finally racked the new wine into barrel on the 6th of October. The malos were finished by the middle of April, 2006 and I presently intend to bottle the Corton in April, 2007. AM 90
