The 1999 Pio Cesare Barolo DOCG is a testament to the winery's dedication to tradition and terroir. This savory and classic red wine from Piedmont, Italy, offers a nose marked by cherry and leather, with a palate dominated by sweet-seeming fruit such as kirsch and vanilla, all accented by a peppery spice. The high acidity is balanced by very soft and supple tannins, making this wine approachable now, yet it also possesses a long ageing potential. Crafted with 100% Nebbiolo grapes from family-owned vineyards across the Barolo area, this wine is aged in large French oak 'botti' and a small amount in barriques, resulting in excellent structure, harmony, and elegance.
