The 2014 Pinot Noir Brauneberger Klostergarten ** is clear, fresh, precise and pure yet deep and intense on the delicate nose that displays deep, flinty, perfectly ripe and fleshy red fruit intertwined with nougat, smoke and toasty aromas as well as slatey and meaty notes. Silky, round and elegant on the palate, with perfectly ripe, beautifully concentrated fruit and a lingering sweetness and intensity, this is an alluring Pinot Noir from Brauneberg. The wine is tight and concentrated, very juicy and highly finessed and provided with an exciting mineral freshness. This 2014 is pure and—in a discreet way—lush and powerful, revealing an intense, very persistent yet refined finish with silky tannins. This is a great, very fine and vital Pinot Noir from the Mosel; almost 5,000 bottles were filled in August 2017. Tasted March 2018.
