The 2019 Nicolas Thienpont Chateau La Prade is a captivating wine from the Francs Cotes de Bordeaux appellation. This wine offers a rich bouquet of blackberry, plum, and spice, complemented by notes of oak and tobacco. The palate is full-bodied with a balanced acidity and firm tannins, leading to a long, satisfying finish. The wine is crafted from 85% Merlot and 15% Cabernet Franc, aged for 12 months in oak barrels. The vineyard, located in the village of Saint-Cibard, benefits from a unique terroir of limestone-clay on limestone rock subsoil and limestone-clay hillsides. This wine pairs beautifully with grilled lamb chops, beef stew, mature cheeses, and roasted duck.

Château La Prade was purchased by Nicolas Thienpont in the year 2000. The vines occupy an excellent location in the village of Saint-Cibard, partly on the limestone plateau and partly on the hillsides.
