The 2006 Chateau Smith Haut Lafitte is a testament to the grandeur of Pessac-Leognan terroir, offering a symphony of complex flavors. A developed wine with a classic Cabernet nose, it presents fresh aromatic aromas of wood, blackcurrant, and redcurrant. The palate is greeted with a firm structure, yet it promises a mellow future, already showing great with lamb. This organic and biodynamically produced wine has been meticulously crafted, with whole grapes fermented at 28°C in small wooden vats and manual punching down for extraction. It's aged for 18 months in barrels, 60% of which are new and produced in-house, with aging on lees. A single racking allows the wine to mature according to its unique profile. With a dry sweetness, robust acidity, and firm tannins, this full-bodied wine delivers intense flavors and a long, satisfying finish. Decant for an hour to unveil its full potential and enjoy with hearty dishes like grilled lamb chops or beef bourguignon.
