Description
The 2017 Chassagne-Montrachet 1er Cru Les Chaumées Clos de la Truffière is showing beautifully from bottle, wafting from the glass with scents of crisp yellow apple, pear, Meyer lemon, pastry cream and beeswax. On the palate, the wine is medium to full-bodied, pure and succulent, with a fleshy, elegantly textural attack, excellent depth at the core, mouthwatering acids and a precise finish. There's a charm and tenderness to this Chassagne, despite its recent bottling, that make it utterly delicious—and exemplary of the 2017 white Burgundy vintage's merits.
