Tasting Note: A concentrated, elegant Pomerol from Chateau L'Eglise-Clinet’s acclaimed 2017 vintage. The bouquet opens with ripe black cherry, plum and glossy blackcurrant, layered with violet florals, cedar and subtle dark chocolate. On the palate it is plush and expansive — dense fruit framed by silky, fine-grained tannins, touches of truffle and graphite-like minerality, and a long, resonant finish.

Producer & Vineyard: Under Denis Durantou the estate pursues precision and low yields on a compact Pomerol site of clay and gravel soils. Vines are carefully managed to favor concentration and balance, producing small quantities of highly expressive fruit.

Winemaking: Fermentation is handled with gentle extraction to preserve fruit nuance, followed by extended élevage in French oak (new and seasoned) that adds complexity and shape without overwhelming freshness. The result is a wine built for both near-term drinking after careful decanting and long-term cellaring.

Serve: Decant for around 90 minutes for immediate enjoyment; alternatively cellar for further integration. Best with rich red meats, game, and umami-driven mushroom dishes.
