Tasting note

A poised Premier Cru from La Croix Rameau showing refined red fruit on the nose—cherry and raspberry—layered with forest-floor, dried mushroom and gentle baking spice. The palate is medium-bodied, framed by bright, lifting acidity and fine-grained, silky tannins that carry through to a long, saline-tinged finish. Producer practice emphasizes low yields and careful selection from limestone-rich parcels; fermentation is typically gentle with careful extraction and barrel ageing to add structure without domination. Best served slightly chilled from the decanter to open the aromatics; drink now through the mid-2020s.

Winery

Domaine Jacques Cacheux is a small family-run estate in Vosne-Romanée that focuses on precise parcel work and traditional Burgundian care. Holdings include village and premier cru plots; the team favors low yields, hand-harvesting and sorting, modest intervention in fermentation, and barrel ageing to shape texture rather than overpower terroir. The wines are known for their clarity of site expression, elegance and ageing potential.
