Winemaking & Vineyard Notes: Purchased by Jean‑Pierre Moueix in 1953, the estate sits on a west‑sloping parcel where gravel at the top gives way to heavy clay and iron‑rich subsoil. Manual harvest with double sorting, fermentation in small concrete vats and maturation mainly in new oak produce the wine's characteristic density, creamy dark‑chocolate notes and concentrated fruit. Soil that firms to a concrete‑like hardness yields power, extraction and a singular intensity.

Sommelier’s Private Note: On first pour you'll notice a deep, almost opaque colour. Aromas of black cherry and dark plum slide into cocoa and dried spice; the mid‑palate is dense and layered with a slightly chalky mineral seam and firm, creamy tannins that cushion the intense fruit. Serve after a good decant — it rewards patience with evolving secondary notes and a very long finish.

The vineyard’s west slope, diverse subsoils and old vines produce wines of great concentration.
