Tasting note

The 2022 Torbreck Woodcutter's Shiraz is a testament to the vibrant and youthful vineyards of the Barossa Valley. This wine is celebrated for its rich and succulent profile, offering a complexity and texture that is rarely found at this price point. On the nose, it bursts with black currant and blackberry aromas, complemented by hints of chocolatey oak and a warm, earthy mineral core. The palate is equally impressive, with a beautiful line of acidity and taut, herb and spice-laden tannins. Aged for 12 months in well-seasoned French oak hogsheads and foudres, this Shiraz is both lifted and sculpted, making it a perfect match for grilled lamb, barbecue ribs, aged cheddar, and rosemary roasted potatoes. Enjoy now or cellar through 2034.

Winery

Torbreck Vintners, named after a forest near Inverness, Scotland, pays homage to the foresters of the rugged high country. The winery sources fruit from hand-harvested and hand-tended plots throughout the Northwestern Barossa Valley. The wine is fermented in cement, wooden, and stainless steel vats for 6-7 days, then basket pressed to well-seasoned French oak hogsheads and foudres for 12 months. Bottled without fining or filtration, Torbreck wines are known for their richness and complexity.
