The Balvenie DoubleWood 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a masterful creation by David Stewart MBE. This whisky gains its distinctive character from being matured in two different wood types. The traditional casks soften and add delicate character, while the sherry wood brings depth and fullness of flavour. The final few months in large oak vessels allow the whiskies to marry harmoniously. On the nose, it offers sweet fruit and Oloroso sherry notes, layered with honey and vanilla. The palate is smooth and mellow with beautifully combined flavours of nutty sweetness, cinnamon spiciness, and a delicately proportioned layer of sherry. The finish is long and warming, making it a delightful experience from start to finish.
