A rich, sherry-finished Highland single malt that delivers warm, dessert-like aromas and a generous mouthfeel. On the nose expect fruitcake, raisins and orange peel with layers of dark chocolate and toasted oak. The palate is full and mouth-coating — honeyed caramel, nutty undertones and a round sherry sweetness build into gentle baking spice and vanilla. Matured primarily in first-fill, refill and re-char Bourbon casks, then finished for six months in deluxe first-fill Oloroso Sherry casks, Aberfeldy 16 shows the distillery's hallmark smoothness and depth. Ownership by Diageo ensures consistent quality; bottling at 40% ABV with a T-top cork closure keeps the profile approachable and balanced. Best enjoyed slightly opened for 10–20 minutes to let the aromas bloom; pairs beautifully with dark chocolate, dried-fruit desserts and mature cheeses.
