The 1998 Chateau Pontet-Canet is a classic Pauillac wine that embodies elegance and complexity. With a medium-bodied structure, it offers a harmonious blend of cranberries, blackcurrant, and earthy tobacco notes, complemented by hints of cedar and forest floor. The wine is aged in a combination of new oak barrels, concrete amphoras, and one-wine oak barrels, resulting in a refined texture and a lingering finish. Produced under the guidance of renowned consultant Michel Rolland, this wine reflects the biodynamic and organic practices of the estate, which is certified by Ecocert and Demeter. The vineyard's unique quaternary gravel soils contribute to the wine's distinctive minerality and depth.
