This beautiful 2003 exhibits a dense ruby/purple color, a vigorous youthfulness, and plenty of mulberry, black currant and cherry fruit intermixed with notions of cedarwood, baking spices and roasted herbs. Ripe, medium to full-bodied, fresh and precise, this wine is just hitting full maturity where it should remain for another 10-15 years.

The 2003 Chateau Calon-Segur is a remarkable wine that showcases a dense ruby/purple color and a vigorous youthfulness. It offers a complex bouquet of mulberry, black currant, and cherry fruit, intertwined with cedarwood, baking spices, and roasted herbs. This medium to full-bodied wine is ripe, fresh, and precise, just reaching its full maturity. It is expected to remain at its peak for another 10-15 years. The Grand Vin of Calon Ségur mirrors its terroir, revealing great delicacy and outstanding intensity. Chateau Calon-Segur is a historic estate located in the Saint-Estephe appellation of Bordeaux. Known for its exceptional terroir, the vineyard features a thick layer of gravel with a predominantly clay sub-soil. The estate is owned by Suravenir and the winemaking is overseen by consultant Eric Boissenot. The grapes are hand-picked and undergo meticulous sorting before being fermented in temperature-controlled conical stainless-steel tanks. The wine is aged for 20 months in 100% new French oak barrels, resulting in a wine of great elegance and depth.
