The 2002 Chateau Montrose is an elegant yet richly fruited wine from the Saint-Estephe appellation. This medium-bodied wine offers sweet notes of black fruits, leather, dried herbs, and earth. It is well-made with excellent depth, ripeness, and overall length. The nose delivers notes of leather, tobacco, and chocolate, while the palate is complex with hints of leather, cold tobacco, and ashes. This wine is structured and tannic but with all the elegance and refinement of a Grand Cru Classé. It has considerable ageing potential and is exceptionally long-lived.
