The 2006 Chateau Pontet-Canet is a stunning expression of Pauillac's terroir. With a deep, intense color, this wine opens with a bouquet of blackberry, plum, and mineral notes, complemented by hints of licorice, espresso, and tobacco. On the palate, it is full-bodied and structured, with smooth tannins and a long, savory finish. Crafted under the guidance of Michel Rolland, the wine undergoes meticulous winemaking, including manual sorting, indigenous yeast fermentation, and aging in a mix of new oak barrels, concrete amphoras, and one-wine barrels for 16-18 months. The vineyard, nurtured with care, benefited from a challenging yet rewarding vintage, resulting in a wine of remarkable complexity and aging potential.
