This 1993 Glendronach 26 Year Old is a classic PX‑puncheon finished Highland single malt, bottled from cask #5963 after 26 years of maturation. Aromas open with concentrated dried fruits — raisins, dried figs and black cherry — layered over dark chocolate, espresso and molasses. The PX influence brings syrupy sweetness and sherry-soaked spice; oak-driven notes of clove, nutmeg and vanilla thread through the palate. Texture is rich and viscous, with warming spice and a long, resonant finish that recalls cocoa nibs and orange zest. Producer notes: Glendronach Distillery, founded in 1826 and now under Brown‑Forman ownership, is celebrated for its heavy sherry cask programme. This release highlights their signature slow maturation in hand-selected Pedro Ximénez puncheons. Winemaking / maturation: Single malt distilled in the Highlands and matured predominantly in PX puncheon #5963 since 1993, allowing deep extraction of fortified-wine sweetness and concentrated dried-fruit character while developing oak spice and a supple mouthfeel.
