Description

The expressive and highly aromatic nose remains largely if not completely primary as there is some secondary character evident on the floral and sandalwood-inflected red and dark berry scents. There is equally good complexity to the delicious and attractively textured medium weight plus flavors that possess both good power and excellent persistence on the naturally sweet finale. This is evolving very well and while it could easily be enjoyed now I would be inclined to allow it another 4 to 6 years of cellar time where it should then hold for another 20ish years. In a word, excellent. AM 94

The 2005 Maison Nicolas Potel Clos de la Roche Grand Cru is a testament to the exceptional terroir of Clos de la Roche. This wine exudes a potent nose that artfully blends toast and reduction with a complex array of red berry fruit aromas, complemented by undertones of game, iron, and stone. On the palate, it is supple and sweet, with broad-shouldered flavors that deliver excellent concentration and focus. The finish is nothing short of superb, offering remarkable depth that will leave you contemplating its intricacies long after the last sip.
