Planeta, a multi-estate family producer in Sicily, has invested in high-altitude plots on Etna to express the mountain’s cool nights and volcanic soul. Winemaking notes: Grapes are hand-harvested, gently handled and fermented with attention to preserving aromatic lift. Maturation typically occurs in large oak casks and neutral barriques to add texture without masking the site expression; élevage lasts around 10–12 months before bottling. Vineyard notes: Vineyards lie on Etna’s slopes with volcanic, well-draining soils, good diurnal range and moderate yields.
