Chevalier de Lascombes 2015 is the charming second wine from an esteemed Margaux estate. Aromas open with bright floral notes—violet and lilac—then deepen into red- and black-fruit layers of cherry, blackberry and cassis, with graphite and warm spice adding complexity. On the palate it offers a clean, focused entry followed by concentrated fruit, a powerful yet elegant structure and smooth, polished tannins. Matured in oak, the wine shows discreet toasted and dark-chocolate nuances while keeping a long, fruity finish. Built for approachable drinking now through its prime over the next decade, it rewards a gentle decant to show best.

Château Lascombes is a historic Margaux estate on Bordeaux’s left bank known for producing structured, expressive wines. With careful selection between their grand vin and second cuvées, the domaine blends traditional winemaking—fermentation in temperature-controlled vats and élevage in oak barrels—with modern precision. Parcels sit on gravelly soils typical of Margaux, giving a balance of ripe fruit and mineral lift; the second wine extracts charm and early approachability from lots that complement the château’s flagship bottling.
