Tasting note: Rich layers of caramel and toffee open first, followed by warm vanilla, toasted coconut and a hint of tropical fruit; the mid-palate is broad and silky with a lingering spiced oak finish. Producer notes: Vanua Rum is crafted in Fiji from locally harvested sugarcane, celebrating island terroir and traditional methods. Winemaking/distillation notes: Distilled with attention to aromatic retention, then matured in oak barrels to develop depth, subtle tannin and rounded sweetness without being cloying. Vineyard/field notes: Cane grows in warm, humid tropical conditions on volcanic-tinged soils, giving a sun-ripe, slightly resinous cane character that carries through into the spirit. Best enjoyed neat or with a short breathe (about 15 minutes) to open the aromatics; pairs beautifully with smoky, spicy and sweet dishes.
