The 2003 Chateau Chasse-Spleen is a captivating wine from the Moulis-en-Medoc appellation in Bordeaux. This vintage presents a dark red hue with a bright and unclouded appearance. Chateau Chasse-Spleen is owned by Bernadette Villars and her daughters. The vineyard is situated on garonne gravel with a chalk substatum, providing an ideal terroir for the vines. The 2003 vintage experienced a very wet autumn, cold winter, and a hot summer, leading to optimal maturation conditions. The grapes were harvested from mid-September to early October. Vinification took place in stainless steel vats and concrete with thermal regulation, followed by 12 to 16 months of aging in barrels, 40% of which were new oak.
