A Grand Cru Blanc de Noirs from Louis Dousset, the 2013 vintage opens with lifted aromas of crushed almond, spiced pear and wild raspberry. On the palate it is dry, focused and lightly spicy, propelled by crisp acidity and fine, persistent mousse thanks to traditional-method ageing. Expect a refined mid-palate texture with a chalky, mineral undercurrent and a clean, lingering finish. Producer notes indicate careful vineyard selection in Grand Cru sites and classic cellar work — secondary fermentation in bottle and extended lees ageing to build complexity and depth. Best served well chilled; no decanting needed. Lovely with shellfish, delicate dim-sum or soft, creamy cheeses.
