Tasting Note: Deep garnet in the glass, the 2011 vintage opens with concentrated blackberries, black plum and dark cherry, layered with violet florals, crushed herbs and a hint of anise. Spice and a mineral thread underpin the fruit while an espresso-like echo adds complexity. The palate is dense yet lively, supported by precise ripe tannins and fresh acidity that lead to a long, pure finish. Producer Notes: This is the Château’s signature wine, the product of continuous care across generations. It reflects the house style—elegant, refined and terroir-driven—with clear focus on balance and ageing potential. Winemaking Notes: Parcels are harvested by hand, sorted on tables and vinified separately in tanks of varying sizes to allow each batch to express itself. Extended maceration of up to three weeks is used, followed by ageing in French oak barrels for at least eighteen months; barrels are selected from top forests with a renewal rate that keeps about 40% new oak each year. Vineyard Notes: The 2011 season brought an early start and a dry spring that limited yields to around 37 hl/ha; moderate summer temperatures preserved aromatic freshness and allowed excellent phenolic ripeness. Low yields, meticulous parcel selection and ideal late-September picking produced concentrated, structured fruit with clear terroir definition. Serving & Ageing: At its element now with decanting, this vintage will continue to age gracefully through the next decades. Serve at cellar temperature after an hour’s decant to reveal layered aromas and to soften the tannic frame.
