Description

The palate is smooth and approachable: soft malty bread and sweet honey lead into deeper citrus notes and a balanced touch of smoke and peat. The texture is light-to-medium with a pleasantly rounded center that carries flavour through to a long, lingering finish where sweet then smoky elements unfold. Producer Notes: Hailing from the highest, coldest distillery in Scotland, Dalwhinnie 15 Year Old is crafted as an accessible, clean Highland single malt. The house style emphasises honeyed sweetness and gentle smoke—ideal as an introduction to single malts while offering enough complexity for regular drinkers. Distilling & Maturation: Distilled with care at a remote highland site, this expression is matured for 15 years in oak casks that contribute vanilla and toasted oak characters. Light peat influence and careful marrying in wood produce a balanced union of sweetness, citrus clarity and subtle smoke. Serving & Enjoyment: Best enjoyed neat, with a few minutes in the glass (or about 15 minutes to breathe) to open aromatics. It also responds well to an ice cube or a few drops of water to reveal extra honeyed layers. Versatile for sipping after dinner or pairing with richer, savory desserts.
