This Meursault Premier Cru from Domaine Jean‑Michel Gaunoux shows a rich, polished profile: honeyed orchard fruit and ripe white peach on the nose, layered with toasted almond, vanilla and subtle citrus zest. The palate is creamy and weighty yet lifted by bright acidity and a stony mineral thread, finishing long with savory, nutty echoes. Winemaking follows a classic Côte de Beaune approach — hand-harvested fruit, careful sorting, barrel ageing with a judicious use of French oak and malolactic conversion to round the texture. The Les Gouttes d'Or vineyards sit on limestone‑rich soils with good drainage and moderate yields, giving wines that combine ripe, rounded fruit with a fine mineral backbone. Serve gently chilled; a short decant (about 45 minutes) will open the aromatics and soften oak integration. Excellent with richer seafood, creamy risottos, roasted white meats or aged cheese.
