A refined Auxey-Duresses from Domaine Pierre Vincent, Les Closeaux 2023 opens with a bouquet of red cherry, raspberry and wild strawberry framed by rose petal and a hint of spice. On the palate it shows bright, energetic acidity, fine-grained, silky tannins and an earthy, mushroom-tinged undercurrent with mineral persistence. The mid-palate is focused and precise, finishing with lingering red fruit and a savory streak. Producer notes: Domaine Pierre Vincent is a small family domaine working from parcels around Auxey-Duresses. They prioritise low yields and careful vineyard selection to express site character. Winemaking: Grapes are hand-harvested and vinified with gentle extraction to preserve freshness. Fermentation takes place in temperature-controlled vats, followed by approximately 10–12 months ageing in French oak with a portion of new oak to add structure without overwhelming fruit.
