The 2023 Lagavulin Natural Cask Strength 12 Year Old Single Malt Scotch Whisky is a testament to the distillery's over two-century legacy on Islay. This whisky presents a pale gold appearance with a medium body and a nose that initially offers a mild ashy character, soon followed by reassuring notes of linseed oil. As it opens up, you'll discover fruity hard candy and a fresh sea breeze reminiscent of a fishing harbour. On the palate, it's unexpectedly sweet, yet balanced with a smoky depth and a touch of salt, creating a clean and slightly drying sensation. The finish is long, intensely smoky, and leaves a pleasing salty aftertaste. With water, the sweetness is enhanced, but the smoky essence remains undiminished.
