The 1987 Chateau La Mission Haut-Brion is a complex, full-bodied, and rich wine that invites the most complimentary descriptions. This wine, which has risen to the ranks of Premiers Grands Crus Classés, is a blend of 47% Cabernet Sauvignon, 43% Merlot, and 10% Cabernet Franc. It boasts great intensity and complexity, with characteristic empyreumatic notes of cigar, chocolate, roasting, and cedar wood. On the palate, it is round and generous, with silky tannins that will charm you with every sip.

Château La Mission Haut-Brion is located in the Pessac-Léognan appellation, in the northern part of the Graves winegrowing area, just a few miles southwest of Bordeaux’s city center. The vineyard stretches across land in the municipalities of both Talence and Pessac, sharing the same vast terrace of superb gravelly soils as Château Haut-Brion. The grapes are harvested and placed in vats for controlled fermentation, followed by maturation in barrels for 18 to 20 months.
