On the palate it’s creamy and medium‑to‑full, with a grippy, almost chewy structure and firm acidity that keeps the wine fresh and appetizing. Producer notes: From the Michael Mondavi Family Emblem program, fruit is sourced from the Rodgers Creek hillside in the Petaluma Gap — a cool, wind-swept site that delivers concentrated flavours and lively acidity. Winemaking: Fermented and aged in French oak with a proportion of new barrels, the wine sees partial malolactic fermentation and regular lees stirring to build creaminess and texture while retaining a focused backbone. Vineyard notes: Rodgers Creek sits on marine-influenced ridges with thin soils and strong diurnal shift; low yields and careful canopy work emphasize site expression and purity. Serve lightly chilled after a short decant to let the oak and buttery notes integrate; pairs well with richer seafood, mushrooms and roasted poultry.
