Tasting Note: Deep garnet in the glass, the 2015 opens with layered aromas of ripe dark fruit, cassis and blackberry woven with exotic spice, violet, black tea and subtle cedar. On the palate it is full-bodied and concentrated yet refined — plush dark and red fruit flavors give way to vanilla, cocoa and a whisper of savory herbs. Silky, fine-grained tannins and a creamy mid-palate provide structure and texture, while lively acidity keeps the wine fresh and drives a long, persistent finish. Producer Notes: Opus One is the joint vision of two legendary figures in wine, created to pursue uncompromising quality. That ethos guides every decision from vineyard to bottle and across vintages. Winemaking Notes: Fermented with an extended extraction (21 days skin contact) and matured for 18 months in new French oak, the 2015 shows polished oak integration and a plush, layered profile. Vineyard Notes: Sourced from four estate parcels in western Oakville — including holdings within the famed To Kalon — the vineyards combine classic Oakville warmth with careful vineyard practices. Hand-harvesting is used where it serves quality best, complemented by modern techniques to optimise ripeness and balance. Vintage conditions delivered ripe, concentrated fruit and excellent phenolic development. Cellaring & Enjoyment: Approachable with decanting now, this wine also offers long-term potential through the window noted by the producer. Serve with richly flavoured red meats and aged cheeses.
