A classic Chablis expression: bright, precise and mineral-driven. The Orangerie 2019 opens with lemon peel, green apple and a whisper of sea spray, leading to a stony, flinty core. On the palate it is brisk and focused — taut acidity frames delicate fruit and a saline, chalky finish. Fermented and aged with respect for freshness, it shows subtle lees-derived texture but keeps a clean, unoaked profile that highlights terroir. Producer notes: From Chateau de Beru’s Orangerie bottling, this wine aims to capture the cooler-climate clarity of Chablis. Harvested at balanced ripeness, the fruit is handled gently to preserve aromatic lift and natural acidity. Winemaking & vineyard: Fermentation in temperature-controlled stainless steel with short lees contact gives the wine a bit of roundness without oak influence. The vineyards sit on classic Kimmeridgian/limestone soils that contribute the wine’s chalky mineral signature and saline edge. Drink now with gentle aeration or cellar a few more years for added complexity.
