A refined vintage Armagnac from Delord, this 1985 bottling opens with concentrated aromatics of dried apricot, orange peel, honey and toasted vanilla. On the palate it is warm and layered — caramel, toasted hazelnut and baking spices unfold over a silky, full-bodied texture, finishing long and elegant with lingering oak spice. Delord’s story begins in 1893 with Prosper Delord, a travelling distiller; today the family distillery in Lannepax combines traditional continuous distillation with occasional double distillation. Grapes are vinified and settled with temperature control close to the distillery, then distilled in winter into eaux-de-vie that mature in cellars of barrels and tanks. The house ages its eaux-de-vie carefully — the oldest are preserved in glass bonbonnes away from light — producing a complex, well-integrated vintage expression.

Delord is a family-run Armagnac house founded from the itinerant distiller tradition in 1893. Based in Lannepax, the estate combines traditional continuous Armagnac distillation with occasional double distillation, and places strong emphasis on careful vinification close to the distillery, temperature control and must settling. Their cellars — more than a thousand barrels and several oak tanks — along with glass bonbonnes for the oldest eaux-de-vie, provide a wide palette for ageing and blending fine vintage spirits.
