Jean-Charles Rion, a fifth-generation winemaker from the legendary Rion family, has established a boutique domaine that seamlessly blends deep-rooted heritage with a modern, passionate vision. After years of mentoring under his father Olivier and grandfather Daniel, Jean-Charles struck out on his own in 1995. In 2023, the domaine reached a significant milestone by moving back into the ancestral family home in Premeaux-Prissey, strategically located along the D974 route facing exceptional vineyard sites.

The winemaking philosophy at Domaine Jean-Charles Rion is centered on absolute respect for terroir and a "subtraction" approach in the vineyard. Practicing sustainable viticulture and strictly controlling yields, Jean-Charles ensures that each grape captures the pure essence of the soil. The process involves obsessive hand-sorting and gentle maturation in oak for 12 months, where the wood is used masterfully to complement the fruit without ever overpowering its natural character.
