Tasting note: A poised and refined Grand Cru showing bright red cherry and raspberry at the forefront, woven with sous-bois and forest-floor complexity. Spice and gentle cedar from oak add depth without overpowering the fruit. The palate is medium-full with layered savory notes, a fine-grained tannin structure and a mineral-driven finish that lingers. Producer notes: Domaine Jacques Cacheux, based in Flagey-Échezeaux, crafts small-production Burgundies that respect site expression. This Echezeaux Grand Cru reflects the domaine's attention to detail in the vineyard and cellar: low yields, meticulous sorting and careful élevage to preserve purity and terroir. Winemaking notes: Fermentation follows traditional, careful extraction to retain freshness and aromatic clarity. The wine is matured in oak (including a proportion of new wood) to provide spice and structure; ageing is balanced to support rather than dominate. Bottled under cork after attentive élevage to allow integration. Vineyard notes: Sourced from steep, well-exposed parcels in Echezeaux with limestone-rich soils, the vines benefit from classic Côte de Nuits mesoclimate—warm days, cool nights and modest yields that concentrate flavours.
