Tasting note

The 2018 Bonnes-Mares from Domaine Laurent Roumier is a Grand Cru of finesse and concentration. Aromas open to layered red and black fruits—ripe cherry and raspberry—lifted by floral perfume, warm spice and a subtle cedar from careful oak élevage. On the palate it shows refined structure: elegant acidity frames concentrated fruit, silky yet present tannins and a stony minerality that carries the mid-palate to a long, savory finish. Made in the estate’s traditional manner with hand-harvested fruit from older vines and time-honoured vinification, the wine marries classical Burgundian poise with depth and aging potential. Best enjoyed after a short decant (about 60 minutes) or with a few years cellaring to let secondary layers unfold.

Winery

Domaine Laurent Roumier is a family estate rooted in a tradition dating back to 1924. Laurent set up his own domaine in 1991, starting with rented parcels and gradually expanding to around a dozen hectares. The estate works primarily with older vines (average ~35 years), practices careful, traditional vineyard work and hand harvesting. Winemaking follows an 'old style' approach—patient extraction, respectful élevage in barrel—and a focus on producing wines of clarity, terroir expression and longevity.
