Tasting note
Tasting note: Bright, cool-edged aromas of red cherry and raspberry fold into darker berry tones and a distinct slate/mineral perfume. On the palate this wine balances lively acidity with firm but refined tannins; spice and gentle oak add structure while a saline minerality and earthy note run through to a long, persistent finish. Producer notes: From Markus Molitor’s Brauneberger Klostergarten single vineyard, this bottling reflects the steep, slate-rich slopes of Brauneberg and the estate’s focus on terroir expression and low-yield viticulture. Winemaking: Grapes are carefully selected and handled to preserve perfume and freshness; fermentations are controlled with gentle extraction and the wine is matured in oak (predominantly seasoned barrels) to provide structure without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard notes: Old vines on steep, south-facing slate terraces impart a crystalline mineral backbone and concentrated fruit even in cooler vintages. Ageing potential: drink now with decanting or cellar through the 2030s for added complexity.
