A concentrated, amber-hued dessert wine from steep slate terraces in Wehlen. Aromas unfold in layers — honeyed apricot, candied lemon peel, orange marmalade, saffron and a subtle toasted almond note from careful maturation. The palate is opulent yet finely balanced: rich, syrupy textures are cut through by lively, saline acidity that keeps the sweetness poised and drives a very long, saline-spiced finish. Producer notes: hand-harvested, multiple selective passes to gather botrytized berries from low-yield vines; meticulous sorting ensures purity and intensity. Winemaking notes: gentle whole-bunch press, cool and slow fermentation with attention to preserving aromatic clarity, matured on fine lees in large neutral casks and stainless steel to maintain freshness. Vineyard notes: steep, slate-rich slopes above the Mosel river provide the fog and diurnal shifts that favor noble rot; old vines and low yields concentrate flavours and produce exceptional sweetness with backbone. Serve lightly chilled; a brief 10–20 minutes in the glass helps the aromatics open. Best enjoyed with fruit desserts, foie gras or mature cheeses.
