The 2016 Chateau Gruaud-Larose 'Sarget de Gruaud-Larose' is a classic Bordeaux from the esteemed Saint-Julien appellation. This wine offers a very classic nose with notes of leather, cassis, fresh dark berries, and dried herbs. The palate is youthful and tight but balanced, featuring ripe tannins and attractive fruit flavors of crushed cherry and red currant. With fine purity and length, this wine is an attractive Bordeaux with great drinkability and exceptional quality for its modest price. The vineyard, managed according to organic and biodynamic principles, benefits from Garonne gravel soils and an average vine age of 46 years. The winemaking process includes manual harvesting, double sorting, and aging in French oak barrels for 14 months.
