Tasting note
品飲筆記:2019 年款口感濃郁且層次豐富,前段奔放的黑莓、黑櫻桃與香料梅香,緊接著可可、濃縮咖啡與烘烤木香。入口飽滿厚實,果實飽和但不膩,單寧細緻柔順,酒體豐腴,尾韻悠長,帶有雪松、藥草與甘草的小巧變化。
酒莊與田地:夏普利家族在 Pritchard Hill 的坡地耕作逾數十年,乾燥岩石土壤產出小顆粒、風味濃縮的果實。為了平衡產量與品質,採用多次落果與修葉管理,使每串果實均衡成熟並累積複雜風味。
釀造重點:2019 年冬春偏冷且雨量充足,促使生長節奏延後但果叢活力好。採收期在九月底至十月底,葡萄於法國橡木桶陳釀約 18 個月,橡木融入香草與烘烤香料但不掩果實純淨度。

Tasting Note: Luxuriously dark and concentrated, this 2019 Signature opens with lush aromas of cassis, black cherry and spiced plum, layered with dark chocolate, espresso and toasted oak spice. On the palate it is voluptuously full-bodied: ripe dark fruit is framed by supple, finely grained tannins and a lavish structure, finishing long with cedar, anise and subtle herbal nuance.
Producer Notes: The Signature has been Chappellet’s flagship for decades — a benchmark for long-lived hillside wines from Pritchard Hill. Dry, rocky soils yield small, intensely flavored fruit; careful crop thinning ensures even ripening and elevated complexity.
Winemaking Notes: Harvested from Sept 25–Oct 30, 2019 after a cool, delayed budbreak and a temperate summer. Fruit was aged for 18 months in French oak, which contributes toasted spice, vanilla and integrated cedar notes while preserving fresh varietal intensity.
Vineyard Notes: Sourced primarily from steep, rocky Pritchard Hill vineyards. Soils are shallow and well-draining, producing concentrated berries with structured tannins and excellent aging potential. The 2019 season’s balanced conditions produced wines with dazzling aromatics, energetic acidity and concentrated, supple tannins.
