On the palate the wine is dense yet poised — generous fruit framed by fine, structured tannins and bright freshness, finishing long with elegant oak-driven length. Producer notes: A Fourth Growth from Saint-Julien, the Château presents its distinctive “house signature” — a refined, classically built wine shaped by several generations of passionate caretakers. The 2008 vintage benefited from a late warm autumn that allowed full phenolic ripeness and depth. Winemaking notes: Fruit from each parcel is vinified separately, with different tank sizes and parcel-based macerations lasting up to three weeks to allow precise extraction. The wine is matured in French oak barrels for at least eighteen months, with approximately 60% of the barrels renewed each year, creating a polished oak presence without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard notes: Vineyards in Saint-Julien show the estate’s usual balance of gravels and well-draining soils, average yields around 44 hl/ha in 2008. Harvest ran from late September into mid-October, with picking staggered to respect optimal ripeness across plots. The result is concentrated flavours, ripe tannins and a freshness that keeps the wine lively through a long finish.
