Tasting note: Bright, poised and classically Nuits-Saint-Georges — lifted aromas of red cherry, raspberry and redcurrant give way to blue floral notes, forest-floor earth and a touch of baking spice. On the palate the wine is concentrated without heaviness: lively acidity frames ripe fruit, fine silky tannins provide structure, and a mineral-tinged savory streak carries the finish long and focused. Producer notes: From Jérôme Chezeaux, a boutique Nuits-Saint-Georges producer working parcel by parcel in top Premier Cru sites. The Rue de Chaux bottling highlights the site's cool clay-limestone soils and thoughtful, low-yield viticulture with hand-harvesting and strict sorting. Winemaking notes: Fermentation follows a traditional Burgundian approach with careful extraction to preserve tension and finesse. The wine receives élevage in French oak for roughly a year to a year and a half, with a portion matured in new barrels to integrate spice and structure without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard notes: Rue de Chaux sits on mid-slope plots with good drainage and varied limestone presence, benefitting from balanced exposure and rigorous canopy work to achieve full phenolic ripeness while retaining freshness.
