Tasting note: A poised Grand Cru with an expressive perfume of red cherry, wild strawberry and violet, woven with forest-floor earthiness and a savory spice thread. On the palate it presents concentrated, refined fruit, bright mineral-driven acidity and silky, well-integrated tannins that build to a long, saline finish. Producer notes: Domaine Laurent Roumier began from the family estate lineage dating to 1924. Laurent established his own domaine in 1991, growing from an initial rented four hectares to roughly a dozen hectares today — a labour of passion rather than mere profession. Winemaking notes: Hand-harvested fruit is vinified using traditional methods; fermentation and élevage are handled with restraint in oak to preserve aromatic clarity while adding subtle structure. The style favours old-school élevage that highlights terroir expression. Vineyard notes: Vineyards lie in Chambolle-Musigny near Beaune, worked in a traditional manner with many plots planted to older vines (average c.35 years). Soils and aspect give a refined mid-weight character with notable mineral drive.
