Royal Salute 21 Year Old is a ceremonious blended Scotch created to mark a royal coronation and crafted by the Royal Salute house under Pernod Ricard. The nose opens with sweet pears, citrus peel and the perfume of autumn flowers, layered over vanilla and dry oak with subtle sherry and a whisper of smoke. On the palate, bright orange marmalade and fresh pear lead into a bold wave of warming spices and toasted hazelnut; water reveals softer tropical notes such as banana. Matured at least 21 years in oak casks, the blend shows careful cask selection and expert marrying — oaked maturation and sherry cask influence give structure, while a controlled peat character adds tension. Best enjoyed neat or with a splash of water, allowed to rest in the glass for around 15 minutes to open up. Producer notes: a royal tribute with history in each measure. Winemaking/distillation notes: blended from reserve stocks, long oak maturation, finished in selected sherry and oak casks. Vineyard/field notes: grains sourced from traditional Scottish barley regions; the temperate maritime climate and clean water underpin the spirit's gentle fruitiness and polished oak profile.
