Tasting note
品飲筆記:色澤深沉偏磚紅,前段以濃郁黑果醬、熟梅與炙乾藍莓為主調,細緻地有紫羅蘭糖、甘草、淡煙草與礫石氣息。口感中厚,果實層次豐富,香料與礫土相互襯托,單寧結構緊實但柔潤,酸度明快,收結長且帶土香與些許松露氣息。
酒莊與葡萄園:此酒完全來自Napanook莊園,自有田地直送,標榜以產地純粹性為核心。1994年生長期特別漫長、氣候溫和,讓果實達到均衡成熟,是該園難得的優良年份。

Tasting Note: Deep garnet with a powerful nose of preserved plums, blackcurrant jam, stewed cherries and dried blueberry, threaded with candied violet, licorice, cigar ash, and stony minerality. The palate is medium‑to‑full, richly extracted and layered: plush black and blue fruit, spicy undercurrents and fine, velvety tannins that carry terrific freshness to a long, earthy finish.
Producer & Vineyard: Made exclusively from the estate’s Napanook vineyard and estate‑bottled, this wine is a vivid expression of site—purity, complexity and length are central to its character. The 1994 season was unusually long and mild, allowing full, balanced ripeness across the lots.
Winemaking & Ageing: Fruit receives intensive sorting (hand and optical), gentle pump‑overs and minimalist extraction to reveal each lot’s personality. Barrel work is judicious—about 20% new oak—and the team racks by hand every three months (esquive), producing a wine with polished structure and great longevity.
Cellar Note: Substantial yet supple tannins and bright acidity make this wine approachable now with decanting, while still rewarding further cellar time. Production was small for a Napa benchmark vintage, reinforcing its collectible status.
