Tasting note: Bright, expressive and immediately appealing, this Napanook shows layered dark-fruit aromas—blackcurrant and pomegranate—lifted by blood-orange citrus and a hint of green olive. Secondary notes of mushroom, dried herbs, forest floor and crushed stones give it depth. On the palate it’s medium–full with a smooth, polished texture, round creamy tannins and a refined, persistent finish. Producer notes: Napanook presents a bold, vibrant character with exuberant fruit and a smooth structure that delivers immediate pleasure while offering the capacity to age. Winemaking notes: Dominus follows a minimalist, detail-driven approach: meticulous hand sorting, optical berry selection, gentle pump-overs to extract aromatics and color, and careful barrel work with hand racking every three months using the esquive. Oak maturation provides structure without overwhelming the fruit. Vineyard notes: Estate-bottled from the single Napanook vineyard, these vines are farmed to express the purity and complexity of this site—rocky soils, careful viticulture and lot-by-lot picking define the personality at harvest. Drink now with a 30–60 minute decant for immediate pleasure, or cellar for longer development.
