Tasting note

這款私人珍藏帶來經典的Rutherford風貌：先是濃郁的黑果香──黑莓、黑櫻桃和黑加侖，夾帶乾燥香草、薄荷與花香，還有那股細緻的石墨氣息。口感豐滿且層次分明，法國新橡木帶出巧克力、香料與香草調，單寧細緻但有支撐力，尾韻悠長帶出土壤的特有「Rutherford dust」。酒莊堅持人工採收、光學篩選與分區挑選果實，選用小顆粒的克隆藤增強皮汁比，果實來自BV Ranches西側老藤地塊，生長在排水良好的沖積扇土壤。釀造方面有專屬Private Reserve的釀酒廠：部分在新法國橡木桶發酵以增加質感，其餘在不鏽鋼與混凝土槽保留果香，延長浸皮、於桶中進行乳酸發酵與熟成，最後小比例調入以提升香氣層次。建議開瓶醒酒一小時左右，或收進酒窖再陳幾年享受更複雜的表現。

A benchmark Napa Valley Private Reserve that marries concentration with finesse. Aromas open with layered dark fruits — black raspberry, black cherry and cassis — threaded with dried herbs, mint, floral lift and a graphite edge. On the palate it is dense and structured yet silky: dark chocolate, baking spice and vanilla from fine French oak weave through a core of ripe fruit and 'Rutherford dust'. Ultra-fine, ageworthy tannins and a long, supple finish make this wine ideal for short-term decanting (60–90 minutes) or cellaring for years. Producer highlights: hand-selected fruit from BV Ranches No.1 & No.2 on the western Rutherford bench, small-berried clonal selections and optical sorting. Winemaking: a dedicated facility for the Private Reserve; a portion barrel-fermented in new French oak for texture, the balance in stainless steel and concrete to preserve freshness, extended maceration, malolactic in barrel and careful blending for aromatic lift. Vineyard: deeply rooted vines in well-draining alluvial soils, low-yielding blocks delivering concentrated, long-lived fruit.

Beaulieu Vineyard (BV) is one of Napa Valley’s founding names, with the Georges de Latour Private Reserve established as the estate flagship in 1940 after André Tchelistcheff championed the de Latour family’s private wine. Over decades this bottling became a benchmark of Napa quality and collectability. The Private Reserve is crafted from select blocks on BV Ranches No.1 & No.2 in Rutherford, honoring old plantings, clonal choice and meticulous cellar practices.
