Tasting note

Les Griffons de Pichon Baron Grand Vin Blanc Sec (2023) is a focused expression from a cool, clay‑limestone parcel in the Boua sector of Château Pichon Baron. Sourced from massal selection material and a tiny 0.82‑ha plot, the wine shows pronounced limestone-driven minerality, bright saline acidity and a refined texture. On the nose it offers citrus and gooseberry lifted by ripe cantaloupe and a hint of toasted hazelnut; on the palate it is smooth and round yet taut, with good underlying tension and a persistent, flinty finish. Aged for nine months, it balances freshness and depth — enjoy now with seafood and creamy cheeses or cellar for up to a decade to watch the nutty, tertiary notes develop.

Winery

Château Pichon-Longueville Baron is a historic Pauillac estate, today part of the AXA Millésimes portfolio. Under the care of viticulturist Aymeric Hervy and winemaker Alexandra Lebossé, the estate has developed a new white micro-cuvée drawn from a specific limestone terroir. The Les Griffons blanc project focuses on terroir selection, massal material and careful élevage (9 months) to produce a mineral, finely textured wine with ageing potential.
